Our Mission

The mission of the University Advising Center is for undergraduate students to learn the specific skills, abilities, and strategies necessary to successfully navigate their educational experiences and make effective decisions concerning achievement of their goals. 

We accomplish this mission by:

• Providing timely and accurate advising information in a supportive environment, where students and advisors share in the responsibility for academic success;
• Developing systems that support and enhance student learning and achievement; and
• Developing links across campus to ensure seamless navigation of the educational system from admission to graduation.

Guiding Principles

The staff of the University Advising Center believes very strongly that it is our responsibility to support all students in the achievement of their goals by providing accurate and timely information, referring students to appropriate resources on campus, listening carefully to their questions and concerns, fostering an environment conducive to personal and academic growth, and assisting students in understanding the purpose and goals of higher education.
