Declaration or Change of Major

The following instructions are for the College of Fine Performing and Communication Arts and the
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Prerequisites for Declaration or Change of Major:

• Student must be in good academic standing

Procedures for Declaration or Change of Major:

1. Download a copy of your transcript from Pipeline if your courses were completed after fall 1998, otherwise:
   
   • Request your transcript from Records, 5057 Woodward, Rm 5101 for courses completed prior to Fall 1998
   • Allow 36-48 hours for the transcript from Records to be produced
2. University Advising Center, 1600 David Adamany Undergraduate Library
   • Call 313 577 2680 for an appointment with an academic advisor
   • See your academic advisor for a Degree Audit of your general education requirements
3. Major Department
   • Call your major department to make an appointment
   • Present your transcript and completed Degree Audit form
   • Review the requirements of the major
   • Present the Declaration of Major form for signature
4. Return the signed Declaration of Major form to the appropriate college office:
