Foreign Language

I'm not sure if my degree program requires a foreign language. How can I find out what is required?

The foreign language requirement varies among colleges and programs. For degrees in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences a single foreign language through the intermediate level (2010) or placement beyond the intermediate course is required. Students pursuing a bachelor of Public Affairs should consult an academic advisor for choices in meeting the Foreign Culture and Civilizations & Societies requirements.

For a degree from the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts, a foreign language is required for all Bachelor of Arts degrees. For a bachelor of Fine Arts, bachelor of music, or Bachelor of Science, a single Foreign Culture course may be selected instead of the foreign language.

For degree from the professional schools: Pharmacy & Health Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering, Nursing, and Social Work, a single Foreign Culture course may be selected instead of the foreign language.
