Pre-Social Work Curriculum (F05)
2008 - 2009
Admission to the School of Social Work:
- Completion of a minimum of 60 semester hours, including the requirements identified in the table below as well as a minimum overall Grade Point Average of 2.50 are required to be considered for admission to the School of Social Work.
- The professional program begins in the Fall Term.
- The application deadline for priority processing is February 28. Students who submit a complete application by that date will receive a decision within 30 days.

- Applications are available at the School of Social Work: Thompson Home, 4756 Cass Avenue.

Competency Requirements:
Intermediate Composition (IC) (choose one): AFS 2390, ISP 4991; ENG 2050, 2100, 2110, 2120, 2210, 2310, 2390, 2570, 3010, 3050; ISP 3510; I H 2010; (complete by 60 hours)
- Attain CLEP score of 490 or higher (General Exam) or 50th %ile or higher (Subject Exam) OR
- Transfer credit for the equivalent of MAT 1800 or higher taken at an accredited college OR
- Place beyond the first "1000" level Math course on the Math Competency/Proficiency Examination OR
- Complete a Math course at WSU numbered at the "1000" level or higher with a satisfactory grade.
Computer Literacy (CL)
- LEVEL 1. (prior to completing 30 credit hours at WSU) Completion of college level computer course such as B E 1200; COM 3210; CSC 1000, 1050, or any higher level CSC course; IST 2710; or Pass the Computer Literacy Competency Exam; or transfer credit for a comparable course taken at another college or university.
Oral Communication (OC) (to be completed by 60 hours):

- Pass WSU Critical Thinking Competency Exam OR

The Advising Center, located at 1600 David Adamany Undergraduate Library, is open from 8:30 - 7:00 Monday and Thursday and from 8:30 - 5:00 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Summer hours are Mon.--Fri. 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
