Pre-Physical Therapy Curriculum

2012- 2013

Admission to the Professional Program in Physical Therapy:

  • Completion of a minimum of 90 semester hours, including all courses identified in the table below, is required to be considered for admission to the professional program. Sciences must be completed by the preceding December. All other pre-professional requirements must be completed by the end of Winter term.
  • The professional program begins only in Fall Term and continues for 3.5 years toward a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
  • Admission to the professional program in Physical Therapy is selective and competitive. Applicants must have have a minimum overall Grade Point Average of 3.00 as calculated by PTCAS, a minimum  GPA of 3.00 in science and mathematics pre-requisites (combined), and a minimum GPA of 3.00 for all  pre-requisites (combined) in the table below; and a minimum of six additional semester hours of upper-division (3000-level or higher) course work in one of the follwoing departments: Biology, Chemistry, Exercise Science, Physics, or Psychology. None of the foregoing requirements will be considered fulfilled with a grade lower than a "C" ( a "C-" is not acceptable).
  • All science requirements must be completed within six years of the time of admission to the professional program.
  • The application deadline is November 1.  For application go to: www.ptcas.org.

Summer hours are Mon.--Fri. 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
