Pre-Mortuary Science Curriculum (F05)
Admission to the Professional Program in Mortuary Science:
- Completion of a minimum of 68 semester hours, including the courses identified in the table below, is required to be considered for admission to the professional program in Mortuary Science.
- All courses identified in the table below must be completed with no grade lower than a "C" (any grade with a value less than 2.00 is not acceptable).
- The minimum Grade Point Average for these preprofessional requirements must be 2.50.
- The professional program begins only in Fall Term. All preprofessional requirements must be completed by the end of the preceding Spring/Summer Term.
- The APPLICATION DEADLINE for the professional program is MARCH 15. For an application go to www.cphs.wayne.edu
- Time limitation: please refer to the WSU Undergraduate Bulletin for the time limit concerning preprofessional sciences and completion of the professional program.
- Students are strongly encouraged to attend an Informational Meeting held the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 259 Mack Avenue. Call 313-577-1716 for information.

Other Competency Requirements:
- Attain CLEP score of "50" or higher, an AP score of "2" (no degree credit), or "25" on ACT Math exam OR
- Transfer credit for the equivalent of MAT 1800 or higher taken at an accredited college OR
- Place beyond the first "1000" level Math course on the Math Competency/Proficiency Examination OR
- Complete a Math course at WSU numbered at the "1000" level or higher with a satisfactory grade.
Pass the Critical Thinking Exam or, Pass one of the following; B A 1010, ISP 3260, PHI 1050, COM 2110
- Completion of college level computer course such as B E 1200; COM 3210; CSC 1000, 1050, 1100, 1500, 2110, or any higher level CSC course; IST 2710; or Pass the Computer Literacy Competency Exam; or transfer credit for a comparable course taken at another college or university (prior to completing 30 credit hours at WSU) .

The Advising Center, located at 1600 David Adamany Undergraduate Library, is open from 8:30 - 7:00 Monday and Thursday and from 8:30 - 5:00 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Summer hours are Mon.--Fri. 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
